What ever happened to winter??

We really have enjoyed Colorado for the sunnier days. The mid-west was full of my dear friends and family but definitely more extreme weather. I love the mountains out here but we do NOT live in them just near them: ) Thus we don't actually experience lots of snow or bitter cold. I remember when I was dating Bart and he would be on the phone from Colorado telling me about being outside with just a shirt on in the winter-- now I now get to experience it too! Layers are best here so you can vary with the temp. changes: )

The other day this week though we got enough snow to build a little SNOWMAN: ) Parents were all thrown off so we had to dig for warm clothes... you know socks make GREAT mittens when you're desperate! LOL!! (photos coming-- just stumped as to how to access it from my internal memory on the camera)

We made little hats for St. Patrick's Day- nothing exciting but very easy concept to use making a band for any hat from those awesome foamies... then create a front piece to tape or glue on. We have made Birthday hats, Graduation caps, Santa hats, Pilgrim hats, and Indian Head-dresses. I LOVE saving money and have to remind you of the GREAT deals after each holiday where some crafts and decorations are less than a dollar.

I have said I'd post Educational tips/activities and have slacked off this last month while I worked on my taxes for the Daycare. SO here is one for all of us that is easy and fun for everyone. DAYS OF THE WEEK... for every day we have come up with a food item that we consistently have it can be an activity just as well. MUFFIN MONDAY, FRENCH TOAST TUESDAY, WAFFLE WEDNESDAY, CINNAMON ROLL THURSDAY, FIRE FRIDAY (ketchup that they poke often poke their fingers in and wave). We refer to FRIDAY as FUN FRIDAY and the kids bring a special toy from home to share. From the local teaching store we have a Blank wipe-off CALENDAR that we have different colored foam shapes on with dates. When we are at meals we review these and sing the days of the week song that we made up. When we sing "Saturday, Sunday" we wave our hands back and forth inferring our excitement of course! Maybe I'll get brave and record it to share-- it all works though. The kids have learned to track the days and have something predictable to look forward to tomorrow.

If you are still reading--- We appreciate your prayers... we have a new little boy starting the last week of March. His family came to visit twice and we are very pleased to say the least!! He is almost one and seems like a peaceful little man. We can't wait to share our days with him. I told his mom he'll surely be more tired with all the activity. WE DO SEEM TO HAVE A THING WITH BOYS--- whatever happened to girls KIRA wants to know???!! We may have one of Josh's classmates here over the summer... I've met him and his family at our Dentist office a ways back and would love to care for him! We'll see... we are excited to see God at work and helping me to have a consistent income: )

Point of transition

I've shared this blog on a few little ads... we have a couple openings here at the daycare. I will not be able to share too many details but this has been a big step for me. We send Noah and Hayden off with love and beautiful memories and achievements here. They are missed . Pray for us that we can be patient and find the family/families we are best suited to serve. These kids are truly awesome and their parents feel comfortable with each other and with me. I am so blessed and hope for more of the same: )

For weeks it has been especially warm... Kira has favored sleeveless dresses whether it is warm or NOT... you better believe she's in her glory not having to twist my arm constantly! I recall her baby shower and telling several friends how I dreaded she'd be the farthest thing from the tomboy I was!!! It's sick... she is ALL GIRL!! She's petitioned me to put on a dress from the FAR back of my closet and showcases my dress shoes whenever she is desperate! Good luck converting me into a "MAMA Princess!" Kira... that will always be your thing~!

Last Saturday while Bart had a sleep test at the hospital so I had my two close friends over for a quick "sleep over." Yes I said sleep over! Each of us were already tired but we still enjoyed the chance to be together. We'd LOVE to splurge and stay somewhere neat in Estes Park or in a Resort town but figure the HUSBAND'S appreciate a few more dollars in our bank accounts! I tried to keep Baby Clara up late with us but she preferred sticking to her routine: ( We captured a photo at church of the five of us.
